Swapping Out One Unhealthy Thing at a Time

A high fat, high calorie, low fiber, low nutrient diet increases your risk of  CANCERS and  almost all other diseases. Most Americans are on the wrong path, as we tend to choose the easy thing,( I know, why do hard things when you can do easy things like buy fast food?)  and for whatever ails us pharmaceuticals are promptly dispensed and somehow we think our ailment will magically disappear. This is really a no brainer. If what we are eating is making us sick, why do we think a pill will make it better? Isn't it simple logic to just change what we eat to heal?
The good news is good food tastes great! Its all in the preparation, just add more fresh herbs and spices you are familar and you can use much less salt and fats. Start with simple things and you will be sucessful.
Fruits are sweet,  not as sweet as a twinkie, yet you will feel good about yourself if you eat fruit instead of a twinkie and your body will reward you by retarding the aging process. Do one thing each day, starting today. Swap out an unhealthy snack for a fruit, and SEE! That's not so hard to do. Together, we will take baby steps.

Organic vs. Inorganic

There are still great benefits to eating fruits and vegetables regardless of wether they are organic or inorganic. Someone brought this to my attention and I have to say organic would be the best way to go if it's available to you and if you can afford it. Fruits and vegetables have the SAME micronutrients, performing the same way in our bodies, if they are organic or not. Don't set invisible barriers that keep you from eating healthy foods. Simply scrub inorganic fruits and vegetables with a clean sponge and a dot of dish soap and rinse very well. It's not as bad as it sounds. Remeber your path to a disease free life is fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans every day.

Anti Cancer / anti disease blog

There is so much to say, however the most important  is that "DISEASES and CANCERS are better prevented than treated" ( Dr Joel Fuhrman). This small sentence has changed my life. If you knew someone who suffered from Cancer, Diabetes or Heart Diease you know this is to be true.
It's not going to cost you any more than you already spend on food and it's not going to disrupt your life. Small subtle changes and your committment is what it's going to take for you to prevent yourself and your children from dreadful diseases later in life.
Start today! Start by cooking one meal today! The only rules are: Add a green vegetable and Substitute your  processed white flour for whole grain or whole Wheat products. I will have receipes available to help you on our website.
Today I am making my Basil Pesto Pasta Salad with Grilled Shrimp, and a Mix Green Salad with Mushrooms and Red Peppers.Who wouldn't like this for dinner? You can swap out shrimp for grilled chicken breast and it wouldc still taste great and be good for you! It's so rewarding to feed your family a healthy meal... you're well on your way! Talk to you soon. Toni.
